Become a Foster - KD's Husky Rescue AZ

KD’s Husky Rescue AZ is NOT a facility. Each husky is placed in a foster home until they are adopted. This helps transition from a life of neglect on the streets or shelter and allows the husky to decompress in a home environment.

We provide all vetting*. Additionally – food, and supplies (bowls, crates, beds, collars, leashes, etc. if our fosters cannot).

A foster provides love, companionship, and temporary housing for a husky in need.

Fostering is a much-needed position for our rescue to continue to intake huskies in need. This position is perfect for those who want a temporary companion, playmate, etc.

Without fosters, our rescue cannot sustain the continued expense.

* KD’s Husky Rescue AZ does not cover expenses due to gross negligence (definition – Gross negligence is a lack of care that demonstrates a reckless disregard for the safety or lives of others).

Foster Policy & Rules Acknowledgements

Complications(Required)

Adoption Events(Required)

I agree to transport the dog to adoption events, at least once per month. If I cannot transport the dog myself, I agree to make the dog available to be transported by an approved KD’S HUSKY RESCUE AZ volunteer. (This is to allow maximum exposure for the dog to find a forever home).

You will be contacted when an event is planned so that you can fulfill this obligation.

Veterinary Care (Regular and emergency care)(Required)

I agree that if any medical issues come up, to contact KD’S HUSKY RESCUE AZ before taking the dog in my care to a vet for treatment – unless it is a life-threatening emergency. If it is a life-threatening emergency I will seek out care immediately and contact KD’S HUSKY RESCUE AZ as soon as possible, an attempt to contact should still be made beforehand.

We partner with local vets and prefer to have the treatment done there. If it’s a life-threatening emergency and you cannot contact us we understand).

Negligence Policy(Required)

I agree that should the dog become ill or injured due to my negligence, I am responsible for all related veterinary bills.

This applies to something that clearly could have been avoided.

Dog Park Policy(Required)

Due to liability and health issues, I understand the dog in my care is not allowed to go to any dog park without prior written consent from KD’S HUSKY RESCUE AZ, no exceptions.

Socialization is important but safety comes first when our dogs are involved.

Additional Dog Policy(Required)

I agree not to take in another dog, stray, or rescue. I also will not adopt or purchase another dog without contacting KD’S HUSKY RESCUE AZ beforehand.

This is in place to limit the dog’s exposure to health and safety risks.

Unaltered Policy(Required)

I agree that if I am fostering an unaltered dog, I will take or make the dog available to be taken to the required neuter/spay appointment with an approved KD’S HUSKY RESCUE AZ veterinarian partner. I understand the dog cannot be adopted until this is completed.

Adoption Policy(Required)

I understand that as a foster if the dog is to be adopted that I have the right to choose to adopt this dog instead. Upon my agreement to adopt the dog any and all adoption fees are due in full, immediately.

Foster failure is still a success! We would absolutely love it if you fell in love with our dog and wanted to keep them. You have to do a formal adoption and pay the adoption fees.

Transfer of Ownership(Required)

I agree that I may not give the dog or adopt the dog to anyone that has not been pre-approved by KD’S HUSKY RESCUE AZ.

The dog is the property of KD’S HUSKY RESCUE AZ and we do not allow our fosters to transfer ownership without our approval.

Liability (damage to person/property)(Required)

I understand that KD’s Husky Rescue AZ does its best to assess a dog’s temperament and health but cannot guarantee that it will not develop behavior or health problems. I agree not to hold this agency liable for any and all damage to person(s) or property.

Home Checks

I will allow a representative to perform home checks upon request if it is suspected that a dog is being treated inhumanely, neglected, exposed to cruelty, kept outdoors in harsh weather, tied down to anything, or denied adequate food and water. I understand that legal action may be taken against me.

Foster Surrender

If I am not able or willing to commit to the dog at any point, I know that I must contact KD’S HUSKY RESCUE AZ and arrange to return said dog directly to us.
